A personal one, I'm afraid, and a rather embarrassing one at that.
My birthday is in a few days, and in the interest of treating it with...some significance, for a change, I thought a good way of going about it would be to simply procure a cake.
It's okay. I think I know what you mean. And I won't refuse payment if you really want to, but I only offered because I want to do something nice for you. No obligation to it.
Oh. That's a really good question! Well, chocolate's right out, but maybe if we did a carrot cake that could work? Or maybe pumpkin-based. Those two things can add flavor while also being naturally sweet.

I've done it a few times. What kind of cake did you have in mind, and what's the occasion?

Mr. Edgeworth, please just let me make your cake free of charge. It can be a present from me! Just tell me what kind you want and I'll do my best.

I have a question to ask about the cake's composition. It's largely meaningless but still, I'd like to know.

[MAYBE HE WANTED TO SHARE HIS CAKE WITH PESS FOR REASONS OTHER THAN THAT HE LOVES HIS DOG A WHOLE LOT. MAYBE IT'S JUST A COINCIDENCE.]
Carrot cake does sound quite good, however.

When is your birthday?

Historically I've just called it one day or the other, the 28th or the 1st.
